Preparation of a National Policy and Strategy on Sustainable Development

- Considering the importance of achieving Sustainable Development Goals for the development of the country, our commitment towards the global efforts to create a sustainably developed world and the need for every government organization to act as an arm of one government, the proposal made by H.E. the President, that every Ministry to have a common vision of a 'Sustainably Developed Sri Lanka', that every Provincial Council to have a vision of a 'Sustainably Developed ............... (relevant name of the province) Province for a Sustainably Developed Sri Lanka', for every Government Institution to prepare its public service delivery strategies giving priority to sustainable development goals, that every government institution to propose programmes and projects under the strategies so identified and for the Sustainable Development Council established by the Sustainable Development Act to formulate a National Policy and Strategies on Sustainable Development, was approved by the Cabinet.
