Energy Performance Standards for the LED (Light Emitting Diode) Lights

- Under the Energy Demand Side Management Programme implemented through the Presidential Task Force, performance standards are introduced separately to promote the efficient use of electrical appliances. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development, to introduce regulations under section 67 of the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority Act, in order to introduce the minimum performance standards required for the LED bulbs being used in the country and improve their quality, to publish the said regulations in the Government Gazette and subsequently, present them in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
