Rehabilitation of fully and partially damaged Hindu Temples in the conflict affected Northern and Eastern Provinces

- The religious dignitaries and peoples' representatives of the Northern Province has shown the absolute need of the rehabilitation of the Hindu Religious Temples which were fully and partially damaged due to the 30 year conflict. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs, to provide a special allocation of Rs.200 million to implement the said rehabilitation activities under the Rehabilitation Programme of the Ministry of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs through the District and Divisional Administration with the support and the participation of the Department of Hindu Religious and Cultural Affairs, was approved by the Cabinet.
