Reducing Anaemia and Anaemia related health issues through fortification of common staple foods with Iron and Folic Acid
- In accordance with the approval granted by the Cabinet previously, an Officials' Committee has been appointed to study and report pertaining to the implementation of a programme on fortification of rice and wheat flour by adding iron and folic acid. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine to implement the recommendations of the said Committee including fortification of staple foods including rice and wheat flour by adding iron and folic acid, assessing operation of the school mid-day meal programme and conduct an evaluation and for providing fortified seed paddy locally, was approved by the Cabinet.
